Don's Poem: Friends

There are friends of  heart and soul so deep that  passage of time and age can not sweep away the ties that hold forever more.

Who are these friends that neither birth nor death  diminish cause or meaning, but stay to tarry  with either starry nor cloudy eye?

Who are these friends of mine that last through time?

The friend with the cockeyed smile is one, and the one with the sour frown, as is he who laughs till dawn, these are friends who last through time.

There are friends of heart and soul so deep that  passage of time and age can not sweep away the ties that hold for evermore. Who are these friends of mine that last through time?

These are  friends of heart and soul who dwell within,  and though time may take their earthly bodies, they remain with us, till once again we shall embrace and say... "I am here for evermore, my friend"
