Meeting
I looked up, you are standing there, my eyes first glance denied the form, then my heart quickened as memories flashed quickly in recall, most fond, but one not at all.

Quickly, we shared what time has gone and what has been done, the moments capturing those past were fleeting, flowing fast by as in hurried breath we spoke of the sorrows, joys, the success and failures since time passed us both by.

We spoke gently then of that last horrid moment, when one held close was taken from fond embrace, still, not wanting to unloosen floods of pain held feebly at bay, we left much unsaid for this encountered small moment of time.

Clearly, from what you said, I know that event now past, lies in shallow shadows, threatening to emerge when most not wanted, time can not be counted to stall the murky swirls surrounding the moment now gone, neither will time erase what was.

You introduced once more the child you bore, he giggled, smiled and laughed, and seemed not to project more than an innocent act, free, open, easy and bright despite a night that changed his young new life.

We vowed to talk some more, not be remiss with time, there is much to think upon, perhaps to recall of things before and of those yet to come, but for the moment, I am glad we had the chance to find that kindred spirit once held by...you, him, and me.
