When Will We Ever Learn

A youthful tragedy again unleashes horror in another place, six loose innocence of young play, and across the land the questions re-arise to inspect the reasons why, when will we ever learn.

It must be we close another eye seeking to find the simple easy reason why, as in anguish cry those in charge do not grasp the reasons why, will we ever learn.

Finger pointing and judgment calls, blame and criticism enough to go around, but still, we hide away, answers sought lie in darken shadows just out of view, when will we ever learn.

Masked in deceptive cloth, signs abound unseen by the inspecting eye, denied, unbelieved, they go on to become the awful scene, will we ever learn.

Violence, empty homes, civility not around, what do children learn to bring out the assassin's gun, when will we ever learn.

Stripped away kindness, time lost to shallow care, no one there to guide along the noble way and still, will we ever learn.

Detectors, inspections and protective guards, fortresses built to halt the missile rounds...too late, to late ...the impostor is already there!

When will we learn?
