The large selection of musical instruments and accessories found in a local music store will overwhelm a person who has no musical background. The musical instruments on display will be organized in categories and some will bear funny names that are foreign to those that have not grown up around them. Without those musical instruments in tow, the sound of Mardi Gras revelers screaming at floats as they passed by would be the only thing heard during the festive periods of nighttime revelry that is typical of the Carnival season. The cymbals of the marching bands will always ring in the distance as musicians practice note after note in preparation for this remarkable event called Mardi Gras.
Some bars in the French Quarter might have a varied number of musical instruments and accessories arranged precariously on a stage. Those musical instruments would not come alive for hours perhaps, or whenever the band members decided to go to work that day.
